Most sites sort by price. The cheapest room in a resort is usually cheap for a reason, so we score every deal instead and rank on that. The score is the same one shown on our hotel pages.
We hold price observations for each hotel by month, so we can say how far today’s price sits below what that hotel normally costs — not below a made-up “was” price.
A discount backed by two price checks counts for less than one backed by twenty-four. Deals with thin history are pulled toward the middle rather than flattered.
Guest ratings are adjusted for how many reviews they rest on, so a perfect score from three reviews cannot buy a top ranking. Apartment and rental listings are excluded.
Prices are for the room, two adults sharing, and come from our own scanner rather than a feed. They move — always check the live price before booking.
